Sunday 19th April saw our return to the inside of the Drop Redoubt fort and our first tours of 2026. Thanks to all who came and also for the generous donations on the day! As a volunteer organisation and charity we really do rely on your support to keep these tours running and to look after this important slice of Dover’s heritage. Don’t forget you can donate on our page here at any time – many thanks from us.
Whilst visitors were enjoying the tours, our dedicated team of hardworking volunteers carried out a successful workday in the beautiful spring weather.
Tasks achieved on this workday:
– history tours at 11:00 and 14:00
– weeding, grass cutting, gardening
– sweeping, tidying, general housekeeping
– setting up the history boards and info around the site
– unpacking and displaying the models of the Western Heights
We look forward to welcoming more visitors for the tours on May 17th and at our forthcoming Open Weekend in June! Take a look at our Calendar for these and other future events.
As ever if you would like to volunteer and take part, all info can be found here and we would be happy to welcome you.
