The Western heights Preservation Society depends entirely on volunteers and supporters getting involved and contributing and sharing our work to a wider audience.

We are committed to keeping your data that you share with us secure and protect it appropriately and using it only for the purposes you have given it to us.

 About Us

We are the Western Heights Preservation Society, a charity dedicated to preserving Dover’s fortifications and making them accessible to the public.

How we use your information

We use your information to send you the Society’s newsletter as well as to let you know of our own events and activities that are taking place. If you volunteer at an event or other activity, we use your information to ensure that you are covered by the Society’s insurance policy and that we have a contact in case of emergency. If you allowed us to reclaim tax from your membership fee via Gift Aid we will share your details with HMRC and will retain your information for six years after the end of the current tax year to comply with our legal obligations.

The Western Heights Preservation Society will not share your information for marketing purposes with any other organisations.

If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date.

You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email us at secretary@doverwesternheights.org or write to us at Western Heights Preservation Society, C/O Dover Museum, Market Square, Dover, Kent, CT16 1PH.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
